of course this will be a matter of opinion if your friend is happy about the result of this difference since its him/her who spent at least 13k(?) for a white dye each

If they are going to change the dyes, we should all get trader sale value so we can upgrade to the new ones. I have stacks of every color in my inventory. This is rediculous.

Uhh anyone elses old monk FoW options looks like windows 95 in 16 colors?
alot of people are displeased with thier monk fow being oddly dyed, uhh my monk top ever since the update, changed shades, so have other monk FoW, walk around and you may see pants or tops just a diffent shade and you PM them about it and they reply "the update screwed with my armor".
In my friends case... his whole set, and even his other sets have changed to differnt horrible colors....
I figured "oh well I guess they messed with the color coding" and searched for a new color... but... all these horrible colors I keep previewing, they are not rich in color, and uhh resemble Win95 16colors... we cant re-make our old colors since uhh they made Green dye = a shade of purple, use to be RED...(which was my friends color)...
again this is for pre-shards pre-obsidian named Fissure armor...
my shard-required fissure monk fow kept its color yet cant re-create it.
I ask of you anet/ncsoft/guildwars staff please do something about this... I really dont want to re-make my fow armor just for a much better looking color selection, and neither do the rest of us who have our veterancy armors.

I think dye drop rates have increased. I have gotten 12 dyes (6 orange unfortunently) in the last 24 hours... which is around 8 hours of game play. No white yet, but I am hoping.
If anyone comes up with a nice new necro blood-red dye mix, please post! My necro's body coloring is built around blood-red armor.

i like the preview window, but the rest...
ranger armor: blue or black alone are both darker than blue with black mixed...
the closest to bloodred i could find was 3red + orange
just one cool thing: blue, green and red gives a colour like black except a brown instead of a blue/violet hue on some necroarmor

But seriously, you might want to try using more dyes to get the color you are looking for. By this I mean, if you think the red dye is too "drab" try 2-3 reds. I noticed that now multiple colors add to the saturation. Personally, I don't see a saturation problem in the new dyes. I acctually think there are more options. And I like hoe silver adds to the contrast & grey lowers it. So many options now!
|
I've tried all sorts of combinations and no luck. 4 dyes and still not nearly as bright as what I was able to do before with only 2 dyes. Silver also just made the color more flat, grey paled it out.
Not happy with this messup at all.
Oh and I have dyes now that have dropped that still won't stack with my other dyes.

And yes, you have many more colour choices now, both in individual colours and in combinations. Saturation variances is just part of what will impact this. And the preview window is one of the best features added! The options now offered will increase the personalization of our characters by a significant order of magnitude.

I challange you to mix the color on my armor and get it to look as bright on the istan warrior boots. You will not be able to do it.
I do like the dye window very much.

Look at the screenshot I took. You can see the huge difference in the boots compared to the rest of the armor.

those axes always used to have that shaped shadow, now it's revealed they are merely radioactive 'house for sale' signs.

Im not to fond of the new dye changes, it makes my armour appear very different and not as good. Im using a silver, blue and silver, purple mix on my 15k elem armour and after the update this colour has completely changed:
Old colour
New colour with the same mix
The difference is very easy to see if you contrast it with the rest of the armour.
I also sent a suggestion to GW support if they could add an update that would allow us to customise the secondary colour on the armour (like the gray bits on mine) and they just sent the generic, thank you for your comments reply.
If anyone else would like to be able to dye the secondary part, please send a suggestion to GW support.

My problem with stacking dyes is not between old and new but rather between dyes dropping in Tyria/Cantha and dyes dropping in Elona.
So I have 2 stacks of brown dyes and 2 stacks of white dyes... and every other dye for that matter
Hope they fix this

you just mix it in the dye preview screen like ive shown in my pic. Apply a silver to your armour, then drag and drop a blue into a slot under it.

You just double click your dye on your armor piece and it automatically apears.
Allowing you a chance to preview the effect before you accept.
